Role / Responsibility: Project Lead & Lead Designer

The Brief

GymBuddy needed a product, brand, and story that could attract users, secure gym partnerships, and convince investors in a crowded fitness market. Nothing existed yet. The idea had to become a credible business.

Approach

I led the work end to end, defining the product vision, brand identity, and mobile experience. I designed the full UX and UI – over 300 screens, created the investor pitch deck, shaped the marketing strategy, and oversaw the technical direction.

The app was initially built in React Native for iOS and Android before transitioning to Swift to optimise performance for a predominantly iOS user base.

The Result

The platform reached over 30,000 users, secured partnerships with major and local gym chains, influencers and athletes. Successfully raised £1M+ investment across a pre-seed and three seed rounds, laying the foundation for growth.
